Long-awaited (by me!) v4.2.0 of Terminal Theme was released today. I’m super happy with all the fixes, suggestions and changes. The theme is used mainly by the programmers (AFAIK), so it was very important to get the code blocks right (finally). From the very beginning (2019), syntax highlighting was handled by PrismJS, but recently I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s too much JS and CSS to deal with. That’s why I’ve switched to Chroma. It’s Hugo’s default syntax highlighter so you get everything you need for free during the build time. No more JS, no more flashing code on page load. OK, maybe the “no more JS” part was a little lie. There is some. But it’s a 1st party one, and it’s just 32 LOC. The icing on the cake, I promise. You’re gonna like it!
