Youtube’s algorithm is a perfect example of why this kind of crap doesn’t work. Even worse, this pushes you away from using software built that way, because it prioritizes the last click over the actual interests.

Yesterday, Framework was streaming about its new hardware, which I forgot about. Obviously, I’m a fan of them, and YT (Google) should know this. Instead of YT recommending this video to me, it somehow decided that this is not what I’d looking for. I couldn’t find it anywhere in the discovery tab (or whatever it’s called). I had to find it manually via search… Because someone on Reddit mentioned about it.

I know this is a recommendations vs. subscriptions kind of thing. But recently I have a feeling that all these recommendation algorithms stopped working. Youtube, Spotify (OMG, don’t get me started) or Netflix (probably the worst one) — what has happened?

All those services fail in everything they should be designed for. And even from a business perspective, those services fail badly in making me addicted to their content. Like how? They don’t even try…
